Kayla Harrison vs. Cindy Dandois headlines PFL 6 card on June 25, Fabricio Werdum also returns
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison will return to action on June 25 to headline the PFL 6 card as she faces UFC veteran Cindy Dandois in the main event.
This will serve as the final regular season event before the PFL playoffs begin later this year.
Harrison already made short work of her first opponent Mariana Morais with a first round TKO in early May as she remained undefeated in her career with a perfect 9-0 record.
Meanwhile, Dandois will be seeking her first win in PFL after falling to Kaitlin Young by unanimous decision in her debut with the promotion. Dandois is a seasoned veteran with past wins over the likes of Megan Anderson, Jessamyn Duke and Jorina Baars but now she’ll need to get through Harrison in order to move onto the PFL playoffs.
The upcoming PFL 6 card will also feature the return of former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, who is also seeking his first win with the organization after a bizarre finished marred his debut.
After locking up a triangle choke against Renan Ferreira in the opening round, Werdum was then finished by punches. Replay showed that Ferreira had tapped out but the referee did not see it, which allowed the fight to continue until the TKO stoppage.
The fight was later overturned to a no contest by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board.
Now Werdum needs to get a win to guarantee he’ll move forward in the PFL season as he faces off with Brandon Sayles, who is coming off an impressive submission win over Mohammed Usman in his opening round fight of the season.
