The bantamweight fight between Stephanie Egger and Sarah Alpar has been pulled from this Saturday night’s UFC Vegas 27 card taking place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

According to UFC officials, the bout was scrapped due to COVID-19 protocols but there’s no further detail on who may have tested positive during fight week but it was Egger who was ultimately forced out of the fight.

There was an attempt to secure a late replacement but Lupita Godinez was unable to get a visa in time to compete in the United States.

Both fighters were seeking their first win in the UFC after suffering losses their only previous appearances inside the octagon.

Alpar fell to Jessica-Rose Clark in her lone UFC fight back in September 2020 before booking this latest matchup in May. Meanwhile, Egger fell to Tracy Cortez in her previous fight in the UFC in October 2020.

The UFC Vegas 27 card will now move forward with 13 total fights with bantamweights Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font headlining the event.
