Dustin Jacoby vs. Askar Mozharov in the works for UFC event on Aug. 28
A light heavyweight showdown between Dustin Jacoby and Askar Mozharov is currently in the works for the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 28.
Multiple sources close to the matchup confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Monday.
Following wins in his first two fights after returning to the UFC roster, Jacoby ended up going to a split draw in his most recent clash against Ion Cutelaba in early May. Now Jacoby will look to return to the win column after he previously took out Justin Ledat and Maxim Grishin following an impressive showing on Dana White’s Contender Series to earn his UFC contract.
Meanwhile, Mozharov will be making his octagon debut after signing with the UFC earlier this year.
With a 23-7 record, Mozharov will come into the fight against Jacoby off three consecutive wins with all of those fights ending by first round knockout. Mozharov has competed in promotions all over the globe while also previously fighting in Titan FC in the United States.
Jacoby vs. Mozharov is the latest addition to the growing card on Aug. 28 with a main event still to be determined. The event is expected to take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
