Drew Dober officially sent notice to the top 15 lightweights that he’s coming for them.
After changes to his fight date and opponent, Dober made the most of his opportunity at UFC Jacksonville with one of his strongest performances to date as he brutalized Alexander Hernandez with punches before earning a second round TKO.
“I wasn’t trying to hit hard. I was trying to hit often,” Dober said following the win.
That strategy paid off because for all the knockout power Dober possesses, he was tactical while stalking Hernandez across the octagon for the majority of the fight. Rather than throwing wild shots just trying to get the finish, Dober cut off the cage and forced Hernandez to step into his punches. .
The attacks from Dober continued with each passing minute as he started to find more and more holes in his opponent’s defense. Finally as the damage mounted, Dober connected with a shot that wobbled Hernandez and he knew the end was near.
That’s when Dober finally rushed ahead with a barrage of shots that saw Hernandez rocked several times and as the rapid-fire punches continued to land, referee Herb Dean saw enough to stop the fight.

The end came at 4:25 into the second round.
With the win, Dober has now earned three straight victories with a 6-1 resume overall in his past seven fights. Following another outstanding finish, Dober is setting his sights on even bigger game in the lightweight division.
“I want to see another striker,” Dober said. “I’m in here to bleed and die for everyone else. I’d love to fight guys like Paul Felder and all those top strikers in the top 10 at lightweight.”
