A very intriguing bantamweight battle is in store for UFC 268 in November.

Who will Marlon Vera fight next? I guess we have ‘The Answer’ now. Get it?! GET IT?!

Anyway, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reports that former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and ‘Chito’ are slated for a November 6th showdown at UFC 268. Contracts haven’t been signed but verbal agreements are in place.

Edgar (24-9-1) is looking to bounce back from a disastrous and brutal flying knee KO loss to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 18 in February. The 39-year-old (who will be 40 by the time November rolls around) debuted at 135 lbs last year and won a close five-round decision over Pedro Munhoz. He is just 2-4 in his last six and after a legendary history of never being stopped, he’s been knocked out by Brian Ortega, Chan Sung Jung, and the aforementioned Sandhagen during this stretch.

Vera (17-7-1) is coming off an absolute war in his rematch with Davey Grant, winning both a unanimous decision and an extra $50,000 through his Fight of the Night bonus. The Ecuadorian’s most notably victory came last year when he TKO’d Sean O’Malley in the opening round. An overwhelming majority of his wins have come via stoppage, while he’s yet to be finished in any of his losses. His only two defeats over his last nine are against Song Yadong and Jose Aldo.

UFC 268 takes place at New York’s Madison Square Garden and is headlined by a welterweight championship rematch between champion Kamaru Usman and his bitter rival Colby Covington.
