DWCS Season 5, Week 1 video: A.J. Fletcher destroys Leonardo Damiani with flying knee
A.J. Fletcher set the bar pretty high for this brand new season of Dana White’s Contender Series.
Fletcher kicked off the season taking on Italy’s Leonardo Damiani in a welterweight matchup on Tuesday night at the UFC APEX at DWCS Season 1, Week 5. Both guys have been known to finish fights quickly, but Fletcher wasn’t going to waste any time as he landed a vicious flying knee just before the halfway point of the opening round to improve his record to 9-0 and will likely earn a spot on the UFC roster come night’s end.

The 24-year-old Fletcher certainly got the attention of the UFC president, along with matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard.

With the win, Fletcher has now finishes eight of his nine pro bouts, which includes appearances for Fury FC and iKon FF.
Damiani’s six-fight unbeaten streak came to an end as he suffered his first loss since January 2018.
