Deiveson Figueiredo responds to ‘fatso’ Henry Cejudo: ‘I am going to knock you out’
It didn’t take long for UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo to clap back at Henry Cejudo.
Taking to Instagram, the Brazilian put out a warning to the former two-division champion, who retired this past May after defending the bantamweight belt.
“Hey Cejudo, look at me fatso,” said Figueredo. “I am going to knock you out. My middle name is ‘Danger.’”
Figueredo closed out the video with a graphic of him holding Cejudo’s decapitated head with the message “Cejudo, Once I have knocked out Moreno, I will your ugly pumpkin head off.”
This video is, of course, in response to Cejudo’s recent video post aimed at Figueredo earlier in the week.
“Yo Dana I’m really trying to enjoy my retirement but your bum fighter of the year can’t get my name out his mouth,” wrote Cejudo in the caption of the video. “Even though he has that smelly belt, he knows who the best in the world is! I just want to know where did he get that Kush from?”
In terms of recent competition, Figueredo (21-1) fought Brandon Moreno to a draw at UFC 256 in December. UFC President Dana White later announced the promotion was targeting the rematch in April or May. Prior to the fight, fans saw “Deus Da Guerra” steamroll over Alex Perez and Joseph Benavidez twice en route to earning MMAFighting’s 2020 Fighter of the Year award.
Cejudo (16-2), also the former bantamweight champion, hasn’t made the walk to the octagon since a second-round TKO over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. Immediately after, “The Messenger” announced his retirement from competition.
