Belal Muhammad vs. Dhiego Lima rebooked for UFC 258
A welterweight matchup has a new date at the UFC’s second pay-per-view event of 2021.
Belal Muhammad and Dhiego Lima, who were originally scheduled to meet at UFC Vegas 17, will now fight at UFC 258. The event takes place Feb. 13 with a location still to be determined.
MMA Fighting was able to confirm the booking with a person with knowledge of the promotion’s plans following Muhammad revealing the new date on his podcast Remember the Show on Thursday.
The reason that matchup was scratched from the UFC’s final event of the year was due to Muhammad testing positive for COVID-19.
Muhammad has won his last three, and seven of eight, to crack the top-15 in the welterweight division. “Remember the Name” is recently coming off of a unanimous decision win over Lyman Good at UFC on ESPN 11 in June.
Lima has also won three consecutive matchups, including split decision victories over Luke Jumeau, Court McGee, along with a first-round finish of Chad Laprise at UFC 231.
UFC 258 is scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and top contender Gilbert Burns.
