MMA SQUARED: Today’s cartoon has been derailed by poor trash talk

Fighters who actually should fight each other can’t get it together to manufacture twitter beef.

Today’s cartoon is a tribute to xkcd.

A long time ago when Rory MacDonald was doing some promo work for his fight against BJ Penn, he said something along the lines of ‘I can’t wait to hurt you’ and that was chilling enough to have stuck with me for seven plus years.

I think fighters need hype men. Someone who can talk them up, trash their opponent, and build a brand because the the Cejudo / Covington style of promotion is losing momentum.
