Bellator announces signing of former Cage Warriors champion Ross Houston

Ross Houston | Dolly Clew, Cage Warriors

Ross Houston’s next fight will take place in the Bellator cage.

Head of Bellator Europe Dave Green announced at a media day on Thursday that the former Cage Warriors welterweight champion is the latest signing to the Bellator roster.

Houston, who hails from Scotland, owns an 8-0 pro record with one no-contest. That no-contest from last June may have been the fight that put Houston on the map as it was a bloody welterweight championship unification battle with Nicolas Dalby that was waved off midway through the third round when it was ruled that the fighting surface had become too slippery for the fighters to continue competing on.

Prior to that bout, Houston captured the Cage Warriors 170-pound title with a split-decision win over Stefan Paterno in October 2018.

A debut date and opponent for Houston is still to be determined.
