Jessica Eye takes on Viviane Araujo at UFC 245
Flyweights Jessica Eye and Viviane Araujo will square off at UFC 245.
A battle of veteran against up-and-comer has been added to UFC 245 in December.
UFC officials announced Monday that former women’s flyweight title challenger Jessica Eye will take on rising Brazilian contender Viviane Araujo at the pay-per-view event.
Most recently, Jessica Eye (14-7-1 NC) was violently knocked out by champion Valentina Shevchenko, back in June, while challenging for the flyweight belt. Before the loss, the 33-year-old was on a three-fight winning streak, gathering decision wins over Kalindra Faria, Jessica-Rose Clark and Katlyn Chookagian, all in 2018.
Rising contender Viviane Araujo (8-1) will look for her third win in a row in the Octagon. After knocking Talita Bernardo out cold in her UFC debut, ‘Vivi’ followed the victory up with a unanimous decision win over Alexis Davis back in July. The 32-year-old’s sole loss happened in April 2017, when she was TKO’d by fellow UFC fighter Sarah Frota.
UFC 245 is scheduled for December 14th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. So far, a main event for the card has not been announced.
