Cyborg: UFC is ‘in the past’, I’ll sign with ‘secret’ company
Former UFC female featherweight champion Cris Cyborg is ready to move on from her Octagon days
Following her beef with UFC president Dana White, the promotion’s former female featherweight champion Cristiane Justino is ready to move on with her career. In an interview with Globo Esporte, “Cyborg” claimed to be happy to begin a new chapter in her life, and puts her UFC endeavor in the past.
Additionally, although Cyborg did not reveal where her new home will be, she did state that she will sign a new contract in less than one month and shortly everyone will know where she will be performing in the near future.
“I’m happy to begin a new project. I’ve been through various cycles that have a beginning, a middle and an end. There was Invicta, the UFC and now I begin a new cycle. In less than 30 days, I’ll sign my new contract and then I’ll tell where my new home is. It’s a secret, but we’re almost there.”
During her UFC days, Cris Cyborg (21-2-1 NC) scored six wins and suffered only one loss, by the hands of now double champion Amanda Nunes. In that three-year period, from May 2016 to July 2019, Justino scored wins over the likes of Leslie Smith, Lina Lansberg, Tonya Evinger, Holly Holm, Yana Kunitskaya and Felicia Spencer, with all but two victories coming by way of knockout.
