Audio: Covington attacks Tate on radio show, gets banned
Here is the audio leak of the verbal spat between Colby Covington and Miesha Tate during a Sirius XM Radio show on Wednesday.
Last week, Colby Covington once again made headlines for his antics. “Chaos” was a guest on MMA Tonight on Sirius XM on Wednesday when he got into a verbal spat with former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate.
Covington was seemingly irked by Tate’s line of questioning, accusing “Cupcake” of talking about him behind his back.
“It gets back to me,” Covington said (transcript via MMA Junkie). “All the people say how (you say) negative thoughts about me, and how I’m this and that. I just think it’s very hypocritical, because I don’t think you’re a perfect person.
“You might have some skeletons in your closet, as well.”

Feeling slighted by Covington’s remarks, Tate went on to respond.
“I don’t even know what to say right now,” she said. “It’s kind of crazy that you would go on that level just because I have an opinion, that you as an American should have respect for the fact that at least I have the balls to say it to your face, and that’s my opinion, and I’m entitled to it.
“I did not put you down as a person. You put me down as a person.”
Over the weekend, the audio of the exchange went online, via the Octagon News YouTube page.
Covington referred to both Tate and show co-host Ryan McKinnell as a pair of “jobbers”, resulting to him being banned from the show for good.
After a dominant win over Robbie Lawler at UFC Newark early this month, Covington is now next in line to challenge Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title. The exact date and venue has yet to be determined.
