A heavyweight showdown between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris has been booked for the UFC’s upcoming return to Washington D.C. on Dec. 7.

UFC officials announced the matchup on Wednesday following an initial report from ESPN. The heavyweight fight is expected to serve as the main event on the card.

After suffering back-to-back knockout losses, Overeem has bounced back with a pair of knockout wins over Sergey Pavlovich and Aleksei Oleinik in his most recent fights in the UFC.

The former Strikeforce heavyweight champion has been a perennial contender throughout his UFC career and now he’ll look to build momentum with a fight against another powerful knockout artist in December.

Harris has been an athlete his entire life first with a career in basketball before then transitioning to mixed martial arts. Over his past four fights, Harris has gone 3-0 with one no-contest with all three of his wins coming by knockout or TKO.

Now Harris will take a step up in competition while facing Overeem at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card from Washington D.C.

The card will air on ESPN in the United States.
