Kamaru Usman had one final warning for Colby Covington ahead of UFC 268.

“I just want to say I’m blessed to be in this position, to be able to deliver another performance like we did the first time,” Usman said Friday at UFC 268’s ceremonial weigh-ins in New York. “If he did his homework, it’s going to be an amazing fight.

“But if he didn’t, I’m going to put his b*tch ass away early.”

Usman successfully weighed in at 169 pounds on Friday morning at UFC 268’s official weigh-ins. Covington tipped the scales at 169.4 pounds.

The two rivals previously fought in Dec. 2019 at UFC 245, with Usman defeating Covington via fifth-round TKO in one of the best fights of the year.

Just as it was for UFC 245, the lead-up to the rematch has been a contentious affair, with Usman and Covington getting into a minor scuffle at UFC 268’s pre-fight press conference.

“Tomorrow night, live on pay-per-view, I’m going to beat the brakes off Marty, I’m going to become undisputed champion,” Covington said on Friday.

“I’m jumping on the Bang jet back to Miami as the pound-for-pound best fighter to ever do it, daddy.”

Usman (19-1) is the No. 1 ranked welterweight and No. 1 ranked male pound-for-pound fighter on the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Covington (16-2) is the No. 2 ranked welterweight.

Usman is 3-0 since his win over Covington, having scored highlight-reel title defenses over Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns. Covington has only fought once since UFC 245, defeating Tyron Woodley via fifth-round TKO in Sept. 2020.

UFC 268 takes place Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York. The event is scheduled to air live on pay-per-view and also features a co-headlining rematch between UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and former titleholder Zhang Weili.
