Canelo vs. Plant weigh-in results: Canelo Alvarez set for historic super middleweight unification bout
Canelo Alvarez successfully weighed in at 168 pounds for his title unification main event clash against Caleb Plant on Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Plant also successfully weighed, coming in at 167 pounds to make their bout official.
The winner of Saturday’s headliner will become the first-ever undisputed king at 168 pounds in the four-belt era. Alvarez (56-1, 38 KOs) brings the WBA, WBC, and WBO belts into Saturday’s fight, while Plant (21-0, 12 KOs) is the current IBF titleholder.
Both men have successfully defended their respective titles multiple times, with Alvarez coming off of an eighth-round TKO of Billy Joe Saunders in May, and Plant having defeated Caleb Truax by unanimous decision in his most recent fight this past January.
