UFC 266 Embedded, part 1 - ‘A sensitive little pansy’
Check out the first episode of Embedded for UFC 266.
UFC 266 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s huge show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start things off with Valentina Shevchenko, who discusses a trip through Washington she took before returning to Vegas. She’s training with Brandon Moreno, and they are exchanging knowledge. Moreno says that he’s learning, always, and he’s happy to help her prepare for his title defense. He says that she’s great in every single area. Valentina has been doing martial arts for 28 years.
Featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski arrives at the airport. He talks about getting COVID and quarantining while being in Vegas last time to do TUF. He reminisces about past TUF seasons. He thinks Brian Ortega is a “sensitive little pansy” and was annoyed by him while filming TUF. His title belt gets its own bed.
Down in Houston, Lauren Murphy is helping out to renovate the gym with her husband. It’s a learning process for her. She’s excited for her first shot at a title. She knows that this is a special opportunity, and she’s going to enjoy the entire experience. While she’s using a saw, she jokes that it would be the most watched Embedded episode ever if she chopped her finger off.
Volkanovski gets in a workout. He’s had to shave his head because he can’t go to the barber at home due to a lockdown.
Ortega is working out running stairs at a local high school near his home. Him and his team are very confident they can take out the champ after getting to size him up for a while. He thinks they have some minor animosity. He’s going to go out and achieve his goal.
And that’s it! UFC 266 goes down this Saturday night in Sin City.
