Dillon Danis charged with disorderly conduct after alleged incident at Jersey Shore bar
Dillon Danis has been charged with disorderly conduct stemming from an alleged incident this past Saturday at Jersey Shore bar.
A spokesperson for the court in Seaside Heights, N.J., confirmed the charge on Tuesday after a video posted to social media showed a man that appeared to be Bellator welterweight and longtime Conor McGregor training partner Danis, 28, being taken out of an establishment by police in handcuffs. According to court summons obtained by MMA Fighting, the alleged incident took place at the Beachcomber Bar and Grill.
The summons contained few details about the incident that led to the charge, other than Danis allegedly “created a disturbance” at the bar that was witnessed by the reporting officer, according to an attached incident report. Danis was due in Seaside Heights Municipal Court on Oct. 19, per the summons.
Shortly after an MMA Junkie report showing the video and what appeared to be a mugshot of Danis posted by MMA Roasted comedian Adam Hunter, Danis quoted the movie Scarface in a tweet: “you need people like me.” A Bellator spokesperson said the promotion has been made aware of Danis’ arrest and is “in the process of gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”

A disorderly conduct charge in Ocean County, N.J., where Seaside Heights is located, can carry a potential sentence of up to six months in jail, fines and probation.
Danis hasn’t fought in the Bellator cage since June 2019, when he upped his pro MMA record to 2-0 for the ViacomCBS-owned promotion. He suffered a knee injury while helping McGregor prepare for UFC 246 that cancelled at Bellator 238 booking in January 2020 and forced him to undergo surgery two months later.
A lack of fights hasn’t kept Danis out of the spotlight. This past December, he was linked to a fight with Jake Paul after social media star turned boxer ambushed him during an interview in an apparently staged prank. On social media, the jiu-jitsu specialist has feuded with a bevy of MMA stars, trading insults.
The Beachcomer Bar and Grill became famous as the centerpiece of several episodes of the MTV show “Jersey Shore.” In 2009, the bar took a turn into infamy when a male patron punched out Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, leading her fellow castmates to attack the patron. Local residents bemoaned the show’s effect on the Shore’s reputation.
