Colby Covington wants to become the UFC’s next two-division champ.

Step aside Dustin Poirier, because Colby Covington now has his sights set on reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

‘Chaos’ is targeting a middleweight title fight against ‘The Last Stylebender’ if he beats Kamaru Usman in their upcoming welterweight title rematch at UFC 268.

“I’m gonna fight in my weight class against Kamaru Usman,” Covington told Bang Energy’s Jack Owoc in a recent interview (h/t Sportskeeda). “I’m gonna get the world title, 170, welterweight, and then I’m going to be working with you and Bang Energy to put on the muscle mass and we’re going to go up to middleweight, to 185 and we’re going to beat Israel Adesanya.”

Covington previously lost to Usman via fifth-round TKO at UFC 245 but bounced back with a late stoppage victory of his own against former UFC welterweight champ and future Hall-of-Famer Tyron Woodley at UFC Fight Night 178. Covington is currently #1 in the UFC welterweight rankings.

UFC 268, which is expected to feature Usman vs. Covington II as the main event, is scheduled to take place on Nov. 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
