Melsik Baghdasaryan showed he’s ready for the big stage.

The Contender Series signee scored a highlight-reel win in his first UFC outing against Collin Anglin in a featherweight bout that took place on the UFC Vegas 33 main card Saturday. After getting off to a fast start in Round 1, Baghdasaryan cracked Anglin with a head kick in the second round to earn the stoppage.

The official time of the stoppage was 1:50 into Round 2.

Baghdasaryan, a native of Armenia currently fighting out of California, improved to 6-1 as a pro and is now unbeaten since losing his pro debut in 2014. He scored the fifth knockout of his career, with his previous four all occurring in 32 seconds or less.

Anglin falls to 8-2 with the loss. Another Contender Series signing, Anglin had never been finished heading into Saturday’s card. His UFC debut was delayed after he was forced to withdraw from a meeting with Seung Woo Choi this past February.
