Magomed Magomedov vs. Raufeon Stots off of Bellator 263
Bellator’s bantamweight division has hit a slight snag.
MMA Fighting confirmed with officials that a bantamweight bout between top contenders Magomed Magomedov (18-1) and Raufeon Stots (16-1) has been removed from the Bellator 263 card on July 31. No reason has been given for the cancellation, which was first reported by MMA Junkie.
It is not yet known when or if the matchup will be rescheduled.
Magomedov and Stots have both established themselves as potential title challengers with spotless Bellator records. Magomedov has won six straight fights and is 2-0 inside the Bellator cage after defeating Cee Jay Hamilton by second-round submission in April, while Stots is 4-0 in Bellator. In his most recent outing this past May, Stots defeated Josh Hill by unanimous decision to score his eighth consecutive victory.
Bellator 263 takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., and is headlined by the featherweight grand prix final between two-division champion Patricio Freire and the undefeated A.J. McKee, who site at No. 3 and No. 6 respectively in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.
