Check out Bloody Elbow’s coverage of the undisputed junior middleweight title between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano.

It’s fight day!

Tonight (July 17) from the AT&T Center in San Antonio the undisputed junior middleweight championship is at stake. WBC, WBA, and IBF titleholder Jermell Charlo (34-1, 18 KOs) takes on WBO champion Brian Castano (17-0-1, 12 KOs) in a highly anticipated unification bout that figures to be action-packed and therefore something fans will want to see. This is the first ever undisputed men’s junior middleweight title in this era of four major sanctioning bodies.

Charlo is the favorite here having beaten the higher level of competition, but Castano can crack and has no problem getting into prolonged exchanges with anyone. This is a big fight and it is not on pay-per-view, which is a relief given the onslaught of PPV events we’ve had and will continue to have.

We have live coverage of the Showtime Boxing tripleheader starting at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. Play-by-play will commence for the main event.
