Yancy Medeiros vs. Damir Hadzovic rebooked for UFC event on June 26
After being removed from the UFC Vegas 27 fight card hours before the event kicked off, an exciting lightweight matchup has a new date.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the bout between Yancy Medeiros and Damir Hadzovic has been rebooked for the UFC’s event on June 26, which will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie was first to report the rescheduled bout.
After dropping his last three, Medeiros hopes get back on track while also competing on the final bout of his current contract with the UFC. Prior to those three losses, Medeiros had rattled off three straight wins including a pair of knockouts over Alex Oliveira and Erick Silva.
Hadzovic will look to avoid a three-fight losing skid and earn his first win since stopping Marco Polo Reyes in February 2019. The 34-year-old dropped a decision to Christos Giagos and was submitted by Renato Moicano at UFC Brasilia in March 2020, which served as his most recent octagon appearance.
The UFC’s June 26 event will be headlined by a heavyweight matchup between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov.
