Video: Jan Blachowicz does his best ‘Rocky 4’ impression ahead of title defense against Glover Teixeira

Jan Blachowicz is tapping into his inner Rocky Balboa ahead of his upcoming title defense.

Blachowicz puts his light heavyweight championship on the line against No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira at UFC 266. The pay-per-view event takes place Sept. 4 at a location and venue yet to be announced by the promotion.

On Monday, Blachowicz took to social media to release a short, hilarious video of him getting to the top of a snow-capped filled mountain where the “Legandary Polish Power” became intertwined with “The Italian Stallion” as he parodied one of the iconic scenes from the movie Rocky 4.

It will be the second title defense for the 38-year-old champion after capturing the vacant strap with his second-round TKO win over Dominick Reyes at UFC 253 in September. Blachowicz went on to successfully defend his title in the main event of March’s UFC 259 fight card, defeating current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya via unanimous decision.

Teixeira gets his second chance to become a world champion after falling short in his first bid over seven years ago when he was defeated by Jon Jones at UFC 172. The 41-year-old enters the bout on a five-fight winning streak, including consecutive finishes of previous title challengers Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos to become the division’s top contender.
