VanZant vs. Ostovich set for BKFC event on July 23
VanZant and Ostovich previously met in the UFC Octagon several years ago.
Paige VanZant has received her second assignment under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) banner. She will welcome fellow former UFC fighter turned recent BKFC signee, Rachael Ostovich, on an upcoming event currently scheduled for July 23.
The fight was announced by the promotion Thursday afternoon on social media.

VanZant made headlines when she made the transition from mixed martial arts to bare-knuckle boxing following her departure from the UFC upon the completion of her fighter contract in August of last year. Her promotional debut came in February opposite of Britain Hart at BKFC: KnuckleMania, where she served as one half of the main event. She lost to Hart by way of unanimous decision.
VanZant received high praise for her performance against Hart and looked to return as soon as possible, which BKFC president David Feldman was happy to oblige to. The promotion was reportedly already targeting VanZant vs. Ostovich upon the arrival of the latter and it has now been made official.
Ostovich joined BKFC in April after she was released from the UFC after going on a three-fight losing streak. The Ultimate Fighter alum was most recently finished by Gina Mazany by technical knockout at UFC on ESPN: Smith vs. Clark in November. Prior to that, Ostovich was submitted by Montana De La Rosa and the aforementioned VanZant.
The event that VanZant and Ostovich will fight on does not have a location or venue set at this time. More fights are expected to be added to the card in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for updates.
