Four fights set for future Dana White’s Contender Series, including several undefeated prospects

The UFC is signing several unbeaten talents from around the world to fill upcoming Dana White’s Contender Series cards in September and October, multiple people with knowledge of the news told MMA Fighting.

Jungle Fight lightweight champion Lucas Almeida (12-0)—listed as one of the top Brazilian prospects to watch in 2020—is set to meet Mexico’s Daniel Zellhuber (11-0) on Sept. 28. The fighters have 19 stoppages victories combined. Sherdog.com first reported the pairing.

A trio of Tata Fight Team fighters have also been signed to compete at the UFC APEX later this year, as Jansey Silva, Hugo Cunha and Bruno Rodrigues battle Gadzhi Omargadzhiev, Martin Buday and CJ Vergara, respectively. Combate was first to report the matchups.

Silva (7-1) won his last three in the Brazilian circuit, while Omargadzhiev puts his perfect 12-0 record with 10 finishes on the line inside the octagon on Oct. 26.

Cunha (6-0) and Buday (7-1) collide in the heavyweight division on Oct. 12.

The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4 contestant and one-time UFC veteran Bruno “Korea” (12-3-1) looks for another shot in the company when he faces Vergara (8-2-1) in a flyweight contest on Sept. 7.
