Frenemies Darren Till and Mike Perry have hilarious Instagram live chat
Darren Till and Mike Perry finally talk after months of trolling and insults.
Darren Till and Mike Perry have spent months throwing insults stemming from their infamous 2018 “spa”-rring session. The Liverpudlian also went to great lengths to troll Perry, which the American seemed to take personally and said he’d be willing to go to jail if they saw each other.
The pair recently decided to go on Instagram live together, finally talking directly to each other. It ended up being a hilarious and generally friendly interaction, with each still claiming they did better in the sparring session, and throwing insults on how they’d win in an actual fight.
“I pummeled your face a few times!” Perry said.
“I f—king battered ya,” Till said. “You’re too small, I told you. You’re tiny. How can you beat me?”
“How were you bleeding then?” Perry responded.
“Stop yourself,” Till shrieked and started laughing. “Stop your behavior, mate.”
“I know you love me though, mate,” Till said.
“You know my plan was to say ‘Hey Darren!’ I’ll go shake your hand and then hit your ass when you least expected it,” Perry responded.
They kept jabbing at each other but the cordial exchange continued, with the pair of frenemies ending up talking about possibly training together in Liverpool. Perry said he didn’t want to leave his family, but seemed somewhat interested in Till’s proposal to train together.
“Get yourself out to Liverpool and train with me,” Till said. “Sacrifices have to be made. I’m not with my family right now either.”
“I know, I don’t know how you fighters do that s—t,” Perry said. “If I’m fighting for something, I’m fighting every day to be with my family.”
“But I want to see you get three wins in the welterweight division now,” Till said. “That’s what I want to see.”
“Thanks. I appreciate it. I want to f—king see that too. I’ve been bulls—ting, I guess.” Perry said.
“Why don’t you come here for your next camp? Train with me. First of all, when you land in the airport I’m gonna punch the head off ya,” Till said. “And then I’ll shake your hand.”
Perry has lost four of six fights, including his last bout where he badly missed weight by 4.5 lbs. The 29-year-old, who has had some very serious issues outside of fighting in the past year alone, recently apologized and promised to be a better role model after the birth of his son.
Till, on the other hand, is currently 1-1 since moving up to middleweight, with a win over Kelvin Gastelum and a loss to former champion Robert Whittaker.
While a bout with Perry isn’t likely to ever materialize now that they’re in different weights, Till did suggest a possible TUF coaching gig.
