UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich arrested on DUI charges in Illinois

UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich was arrested early June 29 by Moline Police in Illinois for driving under the influence.

Moline, Ill. police confirmed the arrest in an e-mail to MMA Fighting.

According to police reports as originally provided to the Quad City Times, Miletich was pulled over around 12:30 a.m. local time on Monday and he was booked into the Rock Island County Jail at 2:00 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.

This is the second charge Miletich has faced for driving while intoxicated in the past two years. In March 2019, the former UFC champion plead guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated after he was initially arrested in Sept. 2018.

Miletich completed probation this past July after he finished in home detention as well as a 12-hour course for drunk drivers.

The 52-year-old veteran is currently scheduled to make his return to action on July 18 for a kickboxing match against famed boxer Michael Nunn. He last fought in mixed martial arts in 2008 with a knockout win over Thomas Denny.

Miletich is well known as one of the pioneers of MMA after he first started competing in 1995. He eventually went onto become the first ever UFC welterweight champion where he defended the title four times before falling to Carlos Newton.

He then transitioned into a role as a full-time coach where Miletich built one of the first super teams in MMA while working with a number of UFC champions such as Matt Hughes, Jens Pulver and Tim Sylvia.

In recent years, Miletich has also been working as a color commentator for numerous fight promotions, including the LFA.
