UFC 250 video: Ian Heinisch blitzes Gerald Meerschaert with punches for quick TKO finish
Ian Heinisch got back on track in a big way at UFC 250.
After suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in his career, Heinisch returned with a devastating TKO to finish Gerald Meerschaert at just 1:14 in the opening round.
Nothing came easy for Heinisch leading into this fight as he not only switched camps but he almost didn’t get the chance to compete after one of his coaches initially tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Las Vegas. Heinisch confirmed following the win that his coach was eventually cleared after the test was deemed a false-positive.
Obviously it didn’t serve as a distraction as Heinisch was quick on the trigger as soon as the fight started as he came after Meerschaert with several stiff combinations. Heinisch then set up perfectly timed overhand right that clubbed Meerschaert and sent him crashing to the canvas.

Heinisch quickly followed up with a barrage of punches on the ground and with Meerschaert just covering his head trying to survive, the referee had no choice but to stop the fight.
The win moves Heinisch to 3-2 in the UFC as he looks to build momentum after picking up his first victory in the octagon since May 2019.
