UFC on ESPN 9 video: Jamahal Hill crushes Klidson Abreu with brutal knee to the body
A new light heavyweight contender has emerged after Jamahal Hill moved to 8-0 in his career with his second straight victory in the UFC on Saturday night.
His latest win came thanks to a brutal knee to the body that stopped Brazilian Klidson Abreu dead in his tracks in the opening round in their prelim card fight at UFC on ESPN 9.
“He’s a scrapper. He’s a fighter,” Hill said about Abreu following his win. “I just wanted to come out and show what I really am — dominant.”

Facing a strong grappler, Hill was aggressive early with his hands as he dropped Abreu with a short hook that set the tone for the entire fight.
Once Hill had his opponent wobbled, he knew to stay on the attack as Abreu tried to find a way to survive. The end came at 1:51 in the first round when Hill saw an opening to grab onto Abreu’s head with the clinch before unloading the knee to the body.
Abreu immediately crumbled to the ground and referee Herb Dean knew that enough was enough already.
Hill remains perfect in his career with two wins in the UFC after earning his contract thanks to another punishing finish on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019.
