How to Pack for Vacation in 60 Seconds
No matter what way you look at it, packing is a b*tch. Weather is unpredictable, it always feels irresponsible to pack any less than six pairs of shoes, certain pieces aren’t meant to be folded (hello, wrinkles), and let’s be real, nobody is down with the overweight luggage fees. Enter our trusty frequent flier friends (aka the majority of people we feature). It’s all thanks to them that we’ve become pro-packers—so pro it takes us all of a minute to get our shit together and zipped up inside a duffle or suitcase. Impressive, huh? Don’t stress, you can do it too. Just follow all the below rules.
*Always* Have An Extra Set Of Toiletries On Hand
This may be the best travel hack, ever. Fill a second toiletry bag with duplicates of all of your go-to travel products (for any and all climates) so that you can simply toss it in your bag when it’s time to jetset. We recommend travel-sized TSA-friendly products so that you don’t get your favorite products taken away when you opt for a carry on.
Packing Cubes Are Your New Best Friend
Meet the Queen of organization: the packing cube. Not only do they help you know exactly where things are in your bag (pack your shirts in one, pants in another, etc.), but the trick here is that you don’t have to carefully fold each item that goes into them if you don’t have the time. Just throw it all in and zip ‘em up.
Pack In Outfits From Here On Out
Not only does this make getting ready a breeze, but it avoids you returning home with any unworn clothing (the worst, no?). Lay your outfits out and make a point to include as many of your staples as possible. That favorite white tee of yours and your go-to denim are perfect pieces to take you from morning to night.
Grab Your Largest Duffle or Suitcase
Whether you have plans to travel with a carry on or a full on four-wheeled suitcase, grab the biggest version you have. Why? So that you can dump everything in before you run out the door. Take it from us: having to steam or iron a few pieces of clothing upon arrival is much better than having to run for what seems like an eternity to your gate so that you catch your flight.
